Well, well, well. It's really rather terrible of me to come and post this when I have not updated about my actual life in months (and there's been some big changes!) but here goes - my girlfriend has started writing her dissertation and the topic is queerbaiting, she has put together a very short survey that takes less than 5 minutes to fill out.

She said that two academic studies have been published on this same topic in the past 6 months, and she's not too happy about it :/

I don't think she had any delusions of being the first, but I think she doesn't want people to think her dissertation is derivative.
