THE DECISION

Jun 02, 2010 17:24

I'm doing it.

I officially decided.

SPOILER FREE FOR SEASON 6!

I've never done it before, and I'm sure it's going to be ha-haaaaaaaard!!!!  But I really think that the enjoyment that I get from not knowing so many details will be well worth the spoiler deprivation.  I don't consider official releases to be spoilers, per se.  I will watch promos.  I'm ( Read more... )

spoilers, season 6, bones, wtf am i thinking?

Welcome to the Rock of Sanity! We keep making more room under here but that's okay. We're a cozy bunch!

And it sounds like you'll be doing what many of us do. We'll do promos because that's canon, but no spoilers or spec and I even skip interviews because they can really spoil (I just catch them later).

And you know what? We do need some spoiler free icons? Hey spacekid77 or tempertemper77... can we call on your extra special skills??? :D

Good point... I didn't even think of the summary. Yes, that could do it too!

HAHAH "Rock of Sanity"! How did I not know that there was a sane refuge out there in the fandom somewhere?? I'm glad to hear that a lot of folks do the same thing that I'm planning to do. I was worried that I was going to fall somewhere in the middle all on my own! I mean, I can't avoid watching TV because I'm worried a promo will come on and ruin it for me. I'm glad that you mentioned interviews, because you are totally right about that. I'm not a huge reader of them anyway, but best to steer clear I think.

Also - ICON LOVE! =)

Hey, me too! Well, I'm going to start off spoiler-lite and then ease into being spoiler-free. Jess and I tried this last year, but I crashed and burned when we hit the winter hiatus. I'm weak, I tell you!

But I know so many people who are hiding in the spoiler-free rock....with so many sponsors maybe I'll succeed this time! :D

Oh you can do it! We can so encourage each other! If you can resist watching the episodes on Wednesdays, then I KNOW you can do it!! We'll form one big support group!

Actually, Global moved Bones back to Thursdays, so Canada doesn't get early episodes anymore. Both the US and Canada get to see new episodes on Thursday nights next season. :)

Really? I totally didn't know that! Your icon had better not be Angela laughing at me, Smartypants!

I'm glad they did that. It was so ridiculous to have it air on different days. It makes it easier for me to withstand now! Hurray!!

I'm doing the same exact thing as you... I'm going spoiler free for season 6, and this is going to be my first time ever doing that for a show that I'm totally addicted to.

It's going to be so hard, isn't it? But I'm really going to try really hard, and I want to avoid sides, and especulations and fanfics. Hopefully that will be enough.

I can't wait for September though!

Yes, it will be SO. HARD. This is going to be my first time too. I'm only going to do it for Bones though. That's the only show that I feel like so many spoilers come out for. I read House spoilers, but not enough ever gets said to ruin what's going to happen. (Generally) I can't wait for September too!

Well, I don't look for spoilers for other tv shows, and I'm probably spoiler free for everything else anyway. But that's because I'm not so addicted, I'm not dying to see the episodes you know. I like it, but it's not like Bones. So not knowing spoilers isn't a big deal for me.

That's why it's going to be hard for Bones, because I always want to know what's happening and I'm so involved in the fandom! But I will do it. We will keep each other strong bb!

I love your little blurb on your side! Awwwww! Her speech was the best!

I'm the same. I obsess about Bones to a level that borders on insanity! I'll look up other show spoilers, but it's just for fun. With a whole week (and sometimes MORE) in between episodes, it's so tempting to go out there and see if I can learn anything new to keep my mind occupied while I wait for the air date. But no more!!! I will be STRONG!

Ugh, this is totally my goal but I really don't know how much I trust myself.

And... well I did read the post-finale Ausiello article (which just had a tiny tidbit) so I guess I'm already a teensy bit spoiled but I'm not going to count it and now I'm making this into a crazy run-on sentence SO: in summary - I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who's wanting to try and make a big change for the way they approach this show.

It's going to be hard but here's hoping it's worth it!

We can do it if we all support one another! You could always try and see how it goes. I certainly wont fault you for not making it, I know it's going to be really tough. But maybe you could try?

I read the Ausiello article you refer to, so I know what you're talking about. I think that it will end up being general knowledge though. HH and Co. don't seem like they are trying to keep any of that hush hush. I think we're still good!

You stayed spoiler-free for the whole season? That's awesome! I bet the 100th episode was phenomenal to see since you didn't know what was going to happen. :)
