900 hours in MSpaint.I have discovered that the best way to force myself to actually FINISH shading something is to start with the parts I hate the most. Once I got that fucking SKIRT outta the way, the rest of it was easy peasy (except, you know, taking me basically ALL DAY TODAY to shade). you know, i feel like this world of yours has a strong or at least notable french influence to it. was that intentional?

that, yes. especially the existence of both berets and epaulettes. there was also the use of a halberd, though i guess that reaches over into switzerland and could have some germanic history. i was going to try to argue that dueling pistols felt french to me, too, but that's probably got some strong englishyness to it, so it would have been weak. WEAK!

Haha AC's just a hodgepodge of like, Victorian European odds and ends, with a couple American industrial revolution type things thrown in (STEAM ENGINE, PRINTING PRESS, thanks Goblini!)

I'm kind of surprised that so much of it seems French, but at the same time I guess I'm not. THE FRENCH HAD SOME NIFTY IDEAS ABOUT THINGS. So it just figures I'd go and steal 'em all without thinking 8|

Also in that context I was using "major" as "PC or main villain" and in this one I'm using it as "named character who plays a large role in the book and appears in several scenes bla bla etc"

...also also Redrum has a much larger part in the story now that I came up with that BRILLIANT IDEA.

The first thing I noticed was that she looked almost like a Disney princess. I don't know if that's a bad thing to compare her to, so I will say that it's in a good way.

I have to admit I'm curious about Bernard, too. Mostly because in my head he's Tingle, and I just know that's wrong.

Disney princess! Don't worry, I definitely took that in a good way, because Disney designs some cool princesses. AND SHE SURE ACTS LIKE A PRINCESS.
