A recent comment made by a friend of mine has really gotten under my skin. Although I do not have “blind allegiance” to the Democratic Party, I do not necessarily see those who have one to be a bad thing. As a fellow Democrat, I enjoyed reading your post.I think the worst part of this republican regime is the lack of oversight by our Congress, the body that is supposedly meant to look our for we the people. The policies that the President and Congress have put forward are mostly self-serving or serving the big corporations. I remember after the 2002 elections I truly hoped the republicans wouldn't be as bad as I feared but, as we now know, my fears were warranted.

Anyway, have you voted yet? Are you interested in volunteering on election day? Here is a link from the Granholm campaign if you have a couple of hours to spare to make some phone calls, knock on doors or watch the polls. We have to do everything possible to make sure Granholm gets re-elected.

I'm glad my comment got under your skin, it furthers your necessity to justify what is inherently unjustifiable. There is a fine line between voting along party lines in ignorance and being so fully aware of today's political subtleties as to be made forced to vote for one party ( ... )
