Okay, this is the last post of return-to-LJ day. But I saw it on cracked.com and I thought it was fucking awesome.

"A Ruben's Tube is a length of pipe with several holes drilled in it, hooked up to a speaker and a propane source. Sounds played through the speaker send jets of flame along the pipe in the shape of the sound waves... The tube works

I actually attempted to make one of those as my science fair project my senior year in high school. I totally failed. I think I couldn't control the pressure properly. In hindsight, I'm probably lucky I didn't blow myself up.
