Name: Henry Allen Venture aka Hank Venture
Series: the Venture Bros.
Age: 16
Personality: Hank is the more outgoing, adventurous, and gullible of the two brothers, and they attempt to, poorly, live up to the outstanding legacy of Team Venture. He is, also, typically less naïve &more decisive than his brother even if said decisions and subsequent actions tend to be a bit mentally unsound. His intentions, it should be noted, are always in the best interest of his colleagues. He is, unfortunately, prone to flights of fancy, which often perplexes family &friends. In spite of this ineptitude, Brock, the family bodyguard, thinks of him as an apt pupil, to which he enjoys entrusting with his knowledge. But to be included is somewhat dangerous, at least in the case of Hank, .. mainly because his unbridled enthusiasm can lead to missteps -occurring from slight to fatal.
He does not take criticism particularly well, especially that of his father, and will -more often than not- take what he says as a direct attack. &this is because of the deteriorating relationship with his father which, can at times border on nonexistent. But in spite of this, Hank really enjoys being in the presence of people and when it gets right down to it he is a pretty easy guy to talk to. So long as he remains unprovoked, as he has been known to burst into childish fits of cursing. &cursing is used really loosely here.
Background: Hank's conception is shrouded in obscurity. It is eluded to, though, that a moment of fervent passion is what spurred the elder, by four minutes, of the two boys into existence. His father, Dr. Thaddeus ❝Rusty❞ Venture, is a famous boy adventurer &super scientist. He had, back in the day, starred in a program featuring his father &team venture. His mother, however; disappeared shortly after his birth, and not much is known in her regard. She is presumed to be dead despite the incessant ranting of an ex. OSI agent turned sociopath -Myra Brandish, who claims to be his biological mother. I it is assumed, though, that this incoherent psychobabble is only a result of her unhealthy adoration for his father.
In the years to follow Rusty would raise him, and his brother, alongside a robot aptly named H. E. L. P. eR. His father never permitted the two of them to pursue an actual and, more importantly, adequate learning career mainly because he insisted upon educating them via subliminal learning aids that had been installed in their beds. But because of his father's brazen neglect the learning aids, the devices have not been updated since for some twenty years. It's this negligence that can be attributed to the boys' strange use of language, -notably "golly" and "oh boy".
Just like his father Hank had grown partial adventuring, and it was his natural inclination made learning the finer points incredibly easy, and soon he found himself on the fast track to becoming a top notch boy adventurer. It was at the height of his progress, however, that an accident occurred. Hank had just fled the compound with his brother under the impression that a new, and better!, baby was scheduled to replace them, when they were killed. But death is just an inconvenience, at least to a super scientist. &so gathering up the tattered remains of the boys' clothing, and disposing of any valuable evidence, Rusty returned home to clone the boys, .. again. Yeah, unfortunately Hank and Dean are a bit death prone, not to be confused with accident prone. &so his father keeps a couple of clones on reserve for just such an occasion. Both boys met fourteen separate untimely demises, but thanks to the learning aids, which store memories&whatnot, they are none the wiser.
Rusty, eventually, tired of this bothersome charade relayed the letters from Hogwarts to the boys. None too concerned with Hank's feelings toward this sudden burst of information, Rusty shipped him off to the school.
Blood: Full.
Preferred House: Gryffindor.
Why you think they belong in this house? I think that Hank embodies most -if not all- the Gryffindor traits to some extent. Courage, daring, &nerve, especially. It is said that its members are generally regarded as brave, and while Hank is, in fact, brave, it can be attributed to idiocy more-so than recklessness.
School Year: 6th.
Quidditch Position: No.
Would you like the character to possibly get a higher position? No.
Roleplay Samples
Journal Sample: a Diary. w- woah! I am not a girl. Or Dean. I do not need a Diary. I don't what what you people are call it. Journal? Pft.
This is pretty lame if you ask me. I really don't understand why I have to write in this stupid thing, .. lame. [ He breaks into a groan. ] I mean, I'm only here because pop shipped me here. Magic, ..? I'm not Dr. O. nor do I want to be. Brock wouldn't stand for this, I want out.
Roleplay Sample: Briskly, Hank moved through the empty corridors of the castle, moonlight filtered in through some of the partially curtained windows. Fumbling with a small ring of keys Hank desperately tried to juggle his backpack as he followed the dimly lit path leading him toward the deserted dungeon. It might have been easier just to set something down, but Hank refused, his shoddy planning already having wasted plenty of time. It was all Dean's fault gosh darnit. He was the one that usually took all this important stuff into consideration.
He all but sighed, quickly casting aside any negative thoughts clouding his mind to instead returned his focus to the task at hand -unlocking the door. Finally fitting the key into the lock he nudged the door open and stepped inside; his eyes falling on what may have been a desk at one point, if not for the stockpiles of paper cluttering its top. He knelt down, setting down his backpack as he reached out for one of the stray pieces of paper; the date revealing it to be over a hundred thousand years old. He skimmed it over, noting a couple of key words, ... ie, Hogwarts and Dracula. It made sense, after all, as giant castles were a breeding ground for Draculas! and other creatures of the night.
"Dracula, come on out, I want to introduce you to my little friend, .." He chuckled, albeit quietly, brandishing a wooden stake.
