sunny, open characters

That's interesting cause as a Kennedy girl that's not how I would describe him. Although that's an aspect of him, I think it hides a much darker character, especially when we get to series 2 where Archie is essentially Horatio's Lady MacBeth.

It's true, it's true - I do see his darker/more complex side, and I love how despite in some ways he is both the most heroic figure of all, despite not really having 'heroic' attributes he finds his own way to contribute... (if that makes any sense?)

It does and I think that's something Kennedy and Bush have in common, they aren't 'brilliant' like Horatio is but without people like them the job doesn't get done.

Archie as Lady MacBeth? What a brilliant observation.

Although I see Archie as a distinctly damaged individual he's also a pretty tough cookie and a bit of a nippy sweetie to boot. The thing I like about his character in movie canon is that previous events seem to have a very real and believable impact on him.
