The new place is starting to come along. The four of us have had no issues with each other (yet). We have a washer and dryer even. We really just need to get the place cleaned up and finish moving things around. The pool is open and it looks like the green death. If you know anything about in-ground pools, help me make ours look more like a pool ( Read more... )

I know your pool isnt supposed to be green...and you have to put chemicals in it to make it not-green.

Hmm... You need a toothbrush. Whenever we have a filter for anything, my grandpa cleans it with a toothbrush, though we don't have a pool, I imagine it's the same. Toothbrush.

You've got to get some Super-Shock, and vaccum it...

You put the super-shock in, vaccum it, and let it run through the filter for about 3-4 days...NO NEED TO CHLORINATE IT UNTIL AFTER THE 3 DAYS...the shock is hyper-chlorinating it...also, after you shock and let it run for 3 days, you have to go into the pool, and use the brush (you can get a big brush from any pool store or walmart), and brush the algae off the sides...TRUST ME...my dad's pool always got green and murky at the beginning of the season and stuff...it's just algae from not being cleaned for a long time!!!

phew, I remember having a pool...it's HARD WORK!!!

oh yeah, and then flush some water through the filter...like, backwash, and stuff because it'll get some of the crap out of the filter...
