Dear Severus Snape,

Most of my friends and I think you're going to die in book seven. I can't think of any drawbacks to that, can you?

What's that I hear?

Why, it's the sound of a thousand crazed fan-girls all crying in unison.

Your death would be worth it just to hear them. But personally? I suspect you'll find a way to save your own arse.

It is entirely possible, but highly unlikely. Rowling has followed a formulaic approach to date in her storytelling and there is no reason to assume she will abandon it now simply to accommodate something as fundamental as my ability to escape danger. Unlike Sirius Black, my death will actually accomplish something. His life was useless as was his demise, for all purposes other than my amusement.

Dear Professor Snape,

I believe in love after death. Do you?

Kisses,

I would have to register my dissatisfaction with that sort of ending. The world would certainly be a less... interesting place without him.

As Rowling has consistently said that the story will end with the seventh book, the 'world' will not exist after my death. Certainly it won't for me, at any rate.

Pity. It appears I shall be forced to get a life.

I should have asked you previously what would have been a fitting final response to my ex-husband before I left.

"I shall remember you forever, darling. What was your name again? Ah, well, doesn't matter. Good bye."

I, too, would consider that a drawback, since you are a favorite of mine.

You're interesting, no matter on what "side" you may be.

I have outlived all my tormentors but two -- The Dark Lord and Harry Potter. My list grows shorter every year.

Oh, dear, everyone's favourite vermin didn't make the list. I'm sure Wormtail would be so very disappointed.

Well, I suppose that having someone clean my house and bring me wine would do something for my opinion of them.

I don't consider him a tormentor. He is an irritant, when I think of him at all. Similarly, Lupin was not a tormentor. His simply condoned the acts of others. He is beneath my concern.

I certainly think it would be a drawback, for some completely unknown reason I am quite fond of you!
