Is it really more pathetic to be a die-hard sox fan than a die-hard Communist? After all, the sox haven't been nearly as thorougly discredited as communism has.

My point exactly. It's been tried and tried and tried- and always fails, always turns into a dystopian nightmare. Hence, discredited, in all but the most hopelessly lost academic circles (of which there seems to be a disconcerting amount) and you, my old.

This is a very huge issue, and I don't expect to convince you of the progressive nature of Russia and other countries that had revolutions in relation to capitalist societies, or the historical possibility of socialism ( ... )

The recent Red Sox mania makes me wish I knew "fat-man" John Kallel. I can imagine his reaction to his team's winning out, expressing his frenzied hype with a prolonged "SUCK IT JETER" or something to that affect.
