Chili 3rd Place Winner

My chili won third place at the competition, though apparently it was (unofficially) First for flavor by the popular vote. Why did it get third? Because our welding club isn't a member of the Rotary Club, and only a rotary club member can win First. Their chili was decent, but not as spicy as mine. Thank you. Its basically the recipe I posted with the addition of canned black beans and canned hominy, minus the jalapeno chilis and plus the passilla and bell peppers added later in the process so they retain their shape and texture.

I can kind of understand you not cooking for a living, what with the way getting paid and the pressure that goes with it can kill a passion - but sometimes I wonder if it's not an avenue worth exploring for you.

If I were a paid housekeeper just cooking for a family it would be fine. If I had to cook for 200 people, or 50, it would just suck all the fun out of it. Cooking is hard work, and the shortcuts usually ruin the flavor which makes my food good in the first place. If I had to make a living as a cook, I could do it. I just wouldn't be very happy.
