Have you ever played Parasite Eve? They talk about how mitochondria used to be separate organisms in a symbiotic relationships with us, but now are part of us. In the game they revolt against us and it's bloody. Then there's 'The Selfish Gene' where Richard Dawkins says that humans exist just to pass on genes.
