I haven't quite figured out every little detail so some of this might just change once I start writing. This is just to get me started.

Character Sketches

:

:The Scene Magazine
Caters to the gay music and fashion scene. Full of high-maintenance employees. Situated on the top floor of the Old Trafford Office Building, across from Old Trafford Park in a suburban Midwest city.

-Cristiano Ronaldo-

The magazine’s only regularly hired model. He’s very self-assured which means he sometimes comes across as an arrogant jerk. His hair is always perfectly styled, and his clothes are all top end. He wouldn’t be caught dead in a pair of sweats. Very flamboyantly gay and he prides himself in this. Modeling is a serious business to him, and he constantly reminds everyone of this. He’s had quite a history of relationships in the past, however, he’s not currently committed to any one person.

-Ryan Giggs-

The co-founder of the magazine with partner, Gary. He’s the one always in the spotlight at parties and meetings. He is the face of The Scene. Very dedicated to his work, often pulling ‘all-nighters’ at the office. He doesn’t lose his temper often, but when he does it usually ends in tears-for the other person. Hating business suits and ties, he prefers a more casual wardrobe of khakis and t-shirts.

-Gary Neville-

The other co-founders of the magazine. He pulls all the strings behind the scenes, keeping his nose in the financial books and always making sure things run smoothly. He’s rarely seen, preferring to always be the first in the office at morning and the last out at night. He’s positively in love with Ryan, but too afraid to tell him even after ten years of working together. He’s the stereotypical nerd who hardly ever goes out even though his magazine focuses mostly on the club scene.

-Darren Fletcher-

The senior writer at the magazine, he handles all the important articles and interviews. He has no problem admitting to his sexual orientation, but he doesn’t take it to extremes like Cris does. He was once in a long term relationship with former magazine model, Alan Smith, until Alan quite suddenly quit the business and jumped town. Still heartbroken, but hides it very well behind cheery smiles and an odd sense of humor. He’s currently eyeing the new assistant photographer, Michael Carrick.

-Michael Carrick-

The magazine’s new assistant photographer, recently moved from England. He’s very quiet around the office, but always the first to try and cheer someone up if they’re down. Has a passion for black and white photos and he’s constantly trying to convince the art director, Patrice, to use them in the magazine. He’s also quite smitten with Darren, but too shy to do anything about it.

-Patrice Evra-

As the art director of the magazine, he handles all the graphics including the all important magazine logo. He’s one of the few straight members of staff, and this makes him a bit uncomfortable around the office at times. He prefers to do a lot of work at home on his own computer away from all the gossip and cattiness of the others. This sometimes makes him come across as snobbish, but he’s really not.

-Rio Ferdinand-

The head of security at the Old Trafford Building. He frequently has ideas for the magazine and Ryan and Gary have learned to take his advice. He swears he’s straight as an arrow (he’s engaged to a woman after all!), but he has a dirty secret-secretly he goes to drag shows and has even participated in a couple. He’s extremely afraid of this secret getting out, however, and he assumes a tough guy persona around the office.

-Nemanja Vidic-

One of the contributing writers to the magazine, he handles the celebrity gossip pages with ease. He helps conduct interviews once in awhile, and his favorite has been the one with gay style icon and former Scene model, David Beckham. He’s currently having a very secret affair with an employee of their competition, Gerard Pique.

-Wes Brown-

The office manager (don’t call him a secretary!) at the magazine. He makes the best cappuccino in the whole city and he’s not afraid to tell everyone that. He quite frequently assumes the role of pessimist at the office because everyone else is so busy trying to look at the up-side they forget the down-side to every idea.

-Owen Hargreaves-

The magazine’s lead photographer, he can be very distant around others as he’s always thinking about how to capture the perfect photo. Cristiano is his favorite subject to photograph-so much so that he has a mini shrine constructed in his apartment dedicated to the model. Lately, he’s been spending more and more time at clubs to try to forget about his obsession with Cristiano. This is leading to experimentation in drugs, mostly cocaine.

-Christopher Eagles-

The fashion editor of the magazine, he skips town a lot but he’s always there when deadlines are due. He’s constantly changing his look, but his favorite by far has to be the edgy punk-rock look, complete with spiked hair and black eyeliner. He doubles as the stylist on fashion shoots, but the models always hate it because he’s so demanding. He flaunts his ‘gayness’ almost as much as Cris.

-John O’Shea

The designer for the newly launched The Scene website. He’s the first to know all the gossip around the office, including who slept with who and who’s currently fighting each other. He’s best friends with Darren, even if it means listening to him go on and on about Alan first and then Michael second.

:Horizon Magazine:

Caters to the more politically-conscious gay man. Located in the Anfield building in the Spanish district of the city. It was started originally in Spain, but moved to the States after the founder had a falling out with his former lover. Mostly Spaniards are on the staff, but every employee has been forced to learn English if they want to continue working for the magazine.

-Xabier Alonso-

The founder of the magazine, he started it up six years ago with best friend, Pepe. He’s very intellectual and hates Ryan and Gary’s magazine for being superficial and portraying the ‘stereotypical’ gay man. He’s so into the business that sometimes he takes it too far. Ties are always a must for him, and he usually wears his reading glasses all day. Was in love once back in Spain, but hasn’t had a relationship since then.

-Jose ‘Pepe’ Reina-

The co-founder of the magazine, as well as a contributing writer. He’s very easy-going around the office and never raises his voice, even when someone (usually Sergio) does something stupid. He believes in the inherent goodness in everyone, and tries to find it. He sometimes thinks Xabi takes the magazine too seriously, but he’d never dream of telling his friend to his face. He has an affinity for 90's pop music that can’t be explained.

-Gerard Pique-

The art director of the magazine, he handles all of the graphics. He’s well-mannered and quiet around the office, but secretly he loves the gay nightclub scene. Having a very secret affair with Vida from The Scene. He originally worked for the competition until a misunderstanding sent him packing his bags.

-Fernando Torres-

The award-winning editorial writer has just recently joined the staff from Spain. He absolutely doesn’t mix business with pleasure, but he might change his mind after getting a good look at the magazine’s photographer, Sergio. He doesn’t fuss much over his appearance, preferring jeans and t-shirts, even though he’s obviously gorgeous with a well-developed body.

-Sergio Ramos-

The photographer of the magazine, he’s been with Xabi and Pepe from the start. He’s fussy and high-maintenance most of the time, but everyone is used to it by now. Unlike most of the others at the magazine, he is indeed the stereotypical gay man-loving tight shirts, hair products, and sex. His photography skills are too good for Xabi to ever think of not working with him, however, despite the contradictions with the magazine’s philosophy. He wants Nando so bad that it physically hurts him sometimes.

-David Villa-

A long time contributing writer at the magazine, he tends to drift between jobs. He looks mean and he usually is. He’s a man of few words, but once he starts talking his vocabulary could make even a motorcycle gang blush. He’s very into equal rights and if he’s not writing, he’s usually found organizing a protest of some kind downtown.

-Bojan Krjic-

Still only seventeen, he’s taken an intern job at the magazine. He’s been taken in by family friend Gerard after being kicked out of his parents’ home back in Spain. His parents rejected him after he came out to them the previous year, and he’s still emotionally scarred by that. He’s clumsy and bumbling, but everyone at the office loves him.

-Raul Gonzalez-

The web director of the magazine, he handles most of his work from home. He’s given up on relationships after his partner (Guti) died in a car accident two years prior. He drinks himself to sleep every night, and Xabi and Pepe are both started to worry.

-Alvaro Arbeloa-

Pepe’s long-time partner, he refuses to write for the magazine even though he once did back in Spain. He’d rather settle down and plan out a life for him and his lover in the States. He loves a good soap opera and will usually spend all afternoon watching them. He’s usually more cheerful than Pepe, but he does lose his temper every once in awhile.

:Other Characters:

-David Beckham-

The former face of The Scene magazine, he was kicked to the curb when Cris came along. He still does an occasional photo shoot or interview for the magazine that he loves so much, but spends most of his time traveling the world with fellow model and lover, Iker.

-Iker Casillas-

The biggest male model in Spain, he’s spending a lot more of his time in the States after meeting David. He grew up being best friends with Xabi and Pepe, but lost touch with them after starting his modeling career. He’s quite shocked to find them in the same city as he and David after all these years. Despite being the biggest name in Spanish modeling, he’s quite humble and still doesn’t know exactly how he became such a hit.

-Francesc Fabregas-

A young very attractive aspiring model who just moved to the States from his former residence in London. He’s dragged his best friend (and former lover) Nick with him. He’s done a couple of small jobs for various magazines and ads around the country until he heard about The Scene and decided to check it out. He desperately wants to work for the magazine, and tries everything to get a job lined up. He eventually meets Cris and the rest is history.

-Nicklas Bendtner-

A freelance writer, he’s just been coerced by Cesc into moving to the States. He gets an odd job here and there, but relies on his fabulous cooking skills to get a steady paycheck at a small diner down the street from The Scene’s office. He still has romantic feeling for Cesc, and he often catches himself staring at his friend.
