Title: How Cristiano Came to The Scene
Rating: PG
Characters: Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wes Brown

Ryan still remembers the day that Cristiano Ronaldo walked into the office and changed his and Gary’s world forever.

It had been raining all day-typical for Ohio of course-and he’d been thinking of telling Wes to put on another cup of coffee when the door had opened and he’d walked in. The man was tall, at least a good four or five inches taller than himself, and he was positively dripping water all over the newly cleaned carpet. His dark hair hung in wet tendrils across his forehead and his red t-shirt clung to his body, outlining a perfectly hard body. Ryan knew he had been staring with his mouth open, coffee cup in one hand, but he hadn’t been able to say a word. Despite being soaked, the young man radiated sex. He smiled easily at Ryan and didn’t even look flustered as Wes ran at him with a roll of paper towels, muttering something about water stains ruining all his hard work.

Then he had opened his mouth, and his accent was thick but decidedly charming.

"Hello, this is office for The Scene, yes?"

Ryan cleared his throat.

"Yes, it is." He stuck out his hand and walked over. "I’m Ryan, how can we help you?"

The young man took his hand, and gripped it firmly. Ryan smiled at the soft velvet skin that he was touching. Absolutely perfect.

"Am looking for modeling job. Man at agency tells me you have openings..."

"We do." Ryan looked the young man up and down again. "Have you ever modeled before?"

"Back home. In Portugal."

Ah, so that was the accent. Ryan nodded to himself as he considered. They did have one space left open on a new shoot that Owen was currently working. It wouldn’t be easy to convince the photographer to take on a new model so late in the schedule, but maybe if he saw this kid.

"Okay. What’s your name, lad?"

"Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro."

The length of the name made even Wes stop his meticulous paper towel routine around the young man’s feet and look up.

"Okay. Any way to shorten that?" Ryan asked, smiling at him.

"Cris I suppose."

"I’ll see what I can do. You have a good look to you." Ryan paused and looked him up and down once more. "Very good. Wes?"

"What?"

"Stop...whatever it is that you’re doing and get Owen on the phone. I want him to take a look at our new lad here."

"Blotting."

"What?"

"I’m blotting the carpet so the water doesn’t get under and turn all mildew and nasty. It happens often." Wes sighed and stood up. "Carpets are a horrible thing to take care of, Ry. I wish you’d let us get hardwood out here."

"Right. Just get Owen on the phone for me." He turned back to his office door. "I’m going to go talk to Gary about the expenses now. Make sure to get some kind of form filled out for us. This might be just what we need to really turn the gay fashion industry on its head." He paused and looked over his shoulder at Cristiano. "You do know that this is a gay magazine, right?"

"Yes."

"Good good. Wes, get to work!"

The secretary rolled his eyes as his boss walked back to his office, but took a seat back behind his desk. He picked up his pencil and eyed the young man critically. He was still dripping water all over the carpet.

"Okay, think you could move over to the mat while I call Owen? You’re making an absolute mess all over my carpet, you know."

Cristiano looked down. He shrugged but stepped over to the dark mat by the door.

"Better?"

"Indeed. Right, now let’s get down to business..."

And the rest, as most people would say, was history.
