Indeed... I noticed that quite some cached pages also came with the images - though those might have been ones stored externally at photobucket or such. There's a lot of material that I haven't had time to go through properly yet (just came back from a family trip). I'd like to think that we can also view this a bit as an archaeological excavation: what is left is quite random and thanks to coincidences - and that is partly what makes it exciting.
Yes, I've seen some pictures on Google Cache, too, and it really is random. For instance, I have Subtle Science's signature picture because it was saved on a cached copy of one of her essays.
