SO.
For starters.
Ed is 15, in HS1. North Quad, Room 509 - apparently alone, again.
He has been around since MS1, because a school far away from the military is good for you. Yes.
- Ed spends a lot of his free time in the library, so if anyone's looking for him he's easy to find there. He will be there eventually and chances are if he's not- someone that is there can tell you where he is or when he'll be back.
- He's the kind of kid that can be seen as completely disrespectful of authority and a teacher's pet in the same breath. He likes to be helpful, especially in the library - but that doesn't mean he always does his work and never talks back. He's prone to things like putting his feet on the desk and just not seeing the problem with it. Teachers can be aware of both sides, or only really know one or the other- up to player's discretion, let me know!
- Also might be known to teachers as one of the students that doesn't necessarily wear his uniform as intended. Maybe untucked or unbuttoned, depending on how the uniform is worn...
- He loves science, he's good at math, but he doesn't pay too much attention to English.
- Ed loves to read, but that doesn't mean he's interested in the class assignment.
- He is helpful, though! If anyone needs a tutor in a subject of interest for him, he doesn't charge!
- Not that that means he actually studies for his own assignments.
- He is good at cracking codes though, so basic HTML comes sort of naturally to him, and given enough time he can translate written documents in code or a foreign language.
- The only other language he's actively studying right now though is German, so he'd have a bit more than basic code-cracking knowledge on that if it would get anyone's interest.
- Ed's on the track team, and the chess club. He also practices martial arts, and is part of some art club. Probably sculpting or something of that kind, since he likes to work with his hands but I haven't decided yet. I'm surprised he doesn't have more clubs, I'll probably be adding to this until Ed doesn't have free time for the library. So anyone's free to know him from one of those!
- He's small... as if that needs to be said. At 15, Ed's only 4'11", which is part of the reason he wears thick soled boots. (The other part being to hide his limp), and he is sensitive about it.
- That also means he's an easy target for bullies that either a) don't know his skills or b) think they can take him anyway. Feel free to try, it might not happen more than once!
- Also, he can't swim.
- He enjoys playing cards, gambling games in particular - like poker. Also, depending on his mood and your attitude he may be a dirty cheat. Fair warning. He's competitive by nature, but he's not likely to take advantage of someone like ... Fletcher. He probably always has a deck of cards on him.
- Other than that Ed's generally a pleasant, social kid. It doesn't take more than a few conversations for him to start calling someone his 'friend', even if he doesn't mean it in the same manner as most people view friends. He's still the kind of person that'll stand up for one of these near-strangers, until proven guilty. He will be nice to anyone unless they piss him off. And even then, his temper has a tendency to flare easily and burn out quick. Depending on the damage, he doesn't tend to hold grudges (at least not long.)
- Although he'll call you his friend after a meeting or two, Ed's the kind of kid that doesn't get close to people quickly, he can tend to space out and disappear into his own thoughts for a bit without even noticing. That's just the way he is, but as soon as someone calls him on it he's focused again.
- He's also a major glutton, probably only put to shame by the likes of Allen. I imagine he eats at both the cafeteria and the Underground - although not too often since he's not made of money like some students around here. So feel free to spot him in either of those places!
- Ed likes to be outside. If your character lounges outside during their study or free time, they might see him around. Either reading or practicing for one of the more active groups he's involved in.
- Characters are free to notice that even in the summer months he wears gloves and long sleeves. If anyone wants to know about his fake arm from past experiences, give me a shout about that detail. He tends to hide it only because he worries it might bother other people, he's not too shy about it for himself. But that doesn't mean he wants to tell you how it happened either.
(Also for OOC purposes, because Ed will avoid talking about his brother. I tried to leave Al's info vague in case someone wants to pick him up. So he could also be in the school, or suffered a coma from the accident, etc...)
His accent is a mix, although I'm not sure of what yet, because I want to see which parts of England to compare Dublith and Risembool to, people can definitely recognize it as English. Although some people might notice he looks a little German for an English boy.
His application can be found here, if you want the full explanation. I will probably be adding insignificant bits to his history as I think of things. Anything remotely important/major will obviously be cleared with mods first.
