- Zelos is a doting brother: this is, in fact, canon. He will also not let men within fifty feet of Seles. As far as he's concerned, he knows what men are like and none of them are good enough for Seles. It gets to a point where the young noblemen of Tethe'alla are more terrified of him than ever, not because they're afraid he'll take their girlfriends, but because they're afraid of what he'll do if they so much as look at Seles sideways. He is, in short, the most overprotective big brother ever.
- That said, he'll capitulate if Seles ever truly loves someone......but only after giving the guy the third degree. And even then, he'll make his life hell. don't give me that look he is totally not a siscon
- Kratos is the one who taught Zelos how to fence and, eventually, how to use magic once Zelos went through the aionis treatment. Zelos was young enough that he found himself looking for a father figure in Kratos and was let down. This is part of the reason Zelos is so angry, re: Kratos in the game. It's also why they, you know, have nearly identical styles of combat.
- He's convinced he would be a terrible father, both because of the examples he's had and because of his own low sense of self-worth. But the truth is Zelos would be an amazing father. He'd dote on and be overprotective of any daughters and spend a lot of quality time with any sons. Actually, his kids would probably get fed up with him because he would be so obnoxiously involved in their lives.
- He likes soft-hearted idiots best. They're predictable, easy to read, easier to screw with and manipulate...and also more honest, more genuine, and more kind.
- In a way, Zelos has Lloyd and Colette on pedestals and hero-worships Lloyd. It's not so much that he thinks they'll do no wrong so much as he knows they will never stop being the inherently good people they are.
- He is definitely cares about Sheena more than most women, mostly because of her personality. He's known her for a long time and she doesn't put up with his crap.
- Hilda is one of the few noblewomen in Meltokio he really, genuinely respects and has an almost-decent relationship with. If it weren't for the tension between the royal house and the house of Wilder, they might be friends.
- He tends to associate younger girls--including Colette and Presea--with his sister.
- Surprisingly, Zelos likes to read. Non-fiction, mostly.
- Post-game, he starts putting his act together a lot. No more debauchery, and whenever he's home he makes a massive effort to actually spend his free time at home, so he can be with Seles.
- He keeps inviting Colette over because he wants her and Seles to be friends.
- Any faith Zelos may have had was pretty well destroyed at a young age--so, before he was old enough to really believe in anything. As a boy he had nothing but contempt for the Church, and once he joined Cruxis and learned of Martel's true origins, he became a solid atheist.
- Zelos and Colette are both descended from Mithos Yggdrasill.
- The Wilders own land to the south and an estate out in the country there. Part of Zelos's fortune comes from this property and the tenants who live on it. A lot of it, however, comes from the Church of Martel, since he receives a fairly large percentage of the tithes paid to the Church.
- (This is mostly just me laying out how old Zelos was when these things happened, since I don't recall exact ages ever being mentioned. If any canon or supplementary materials contradict me, please let me know.) Zelos's father committed suicide when he was seven. Zelos was ten when he first met Seles (then three), his mother was murdered by Seles's mother, and Seles was subsequently confined to the Southeast Abbey. He was 13 when he was approached by Cruxis with the offer to free him from his position as the Chosen in exchange for helping them stamp out the Renegades and put the finishing touches on Mithos's plan.
- Zelos was 15 when he lost his virginity. He seduced an older, married noblewoman and tried to use sex to manipulate her. Instead Zelos was the one used and humiliated. In response he embraced the playboy image that resulted and, well, you know the rest.
- That said, Zelos's sexual exploits are majorly over-exaggerated. He prefers not to be sexually intimate with the women of Meltokio unless there's something else in it for him besides just sexual gratification, and he's not interested in the petty power plays of the upper class. He's been with a few women, yes, but he's not a manslut.
- Zelos first met Sheena when he was about 16 and she was 13. He was at school in Sybak and accidentally walked in on her in the shower. She chucked a bar of soap in his face. The fact that she didn't put up with his shit from the get-go intrigued him and won his respect.
- When Zelos was 20 years old, Cruxis made him go through the angel transformation. The staff at his winter home in the country was replaced by members of Cruxis or Desians and he was given a Cruxis Crystal to replace the Exsphere he had been using up until that point. I imagine the angel transformation that the Chosen goes through as part of the world regeneration ritual is, well, very ritualistic and set up to occur in phases; however, the angel transformation can actually be done in one straight go. That winter, Zelos was isolated in his winter home and effectively went through the angel transformation by himself over the span of a couple of weeks.
