so...my power adapter for my fucking macbook pro just melted. like, literatly, melted through the plastic and split in half. so now i have two halves. the half that plugs into the wall, and the half that's supposed to go from that part to my computer. it's SUPPOSED to be one half. not two. IT MELTED, Y'ALL. IT MELTED IN TWO

My iBook's power adapter died last summer, and that shit costs like $80 to replace or something stupid like that. Mine didn't MELT, though. It just quit working.

thankfully i'm under the applecare plan for the next two and a half years. the apple guy on the phone told me to bring the computer and the power supply into the bookstore tomorrow and ask for a new one and they could help me out. however, with complete seriousness, if you don't have the extended warranty for your new macbook you might want to consider getting it. considering that the macbook pro power supply has 517 reviews and an overall rating of 1.5 stars, and the macbook power supply has 664 reviews with (also) a 1.5 rating...i'd say they malfunction quite a lot

I think their adapters always kind of suck. I remember reading a lot of bad reviews for the iBook one after mine crapped out.

Mine for my old Sony Vaio melted a little. Not the same way as yours, though.

it's ironic. dude, its fucking irony at it's best. i was *just* talking about how much better apple was last night. and yet, all my apple shit has started to break in the past week. what. the. hell. it's good to know it's not *just* apple, though...:(
