I have to say that I really appreciate that my parents did that for us. It keeps Christmas really kinda magical even as an adult, and makes the transition as a parent a lot easier/more fun to participate in.
I figured it out myself, by secretly sending a letter to Santa with a wish list of some toys I really wanted that were impossible to find at the time. I got a form letter back. It was exactly the same as a "letter from Santa" that I had received some years previously, so then I knew.
I got answers for all the "But how does he...?" questions though. So if you got one that stumps you, lemme know and I'll tell you my answer.
