The end of all worlds, eh?

So, some people think this is it. I think that if we were all brought here to watch it die, it'll happen sooner or later, so let it come if it will. No one can do anything to stop it, if it's this imminent ( Read more... )

So that is the nature of this city. Gruesome.

Yes, we will die one day, but we are also afraid of not having lived enough.

... you have a device for flying?

Yes, the City is a cruel place. I take it you're new, eh? Fresh meat for the overlords of this pit.

Afraid of not having lived enough? Heh. When you're immortal, you have no fear of this. I can't comprehend what you have to fear about your lifespan.

Yes, I have an ES unit -- a mech. It does indeed fly.

Not that new, but I have been, well, not all that conscious for most of the time.

I see. Most of us are quite mortal though, so it's all about making the limited amount of time we have in this world worthwile.

I'm not familiar with those terms, but how I long to fly again...!

What do you use to fly, eh? If you don't use machines, do you use odd powers that people here seem to have?

Who are you, anyway, girl?

Having died once... it's amusing.

Well, I didn't see anything. Did you?

What does it feel like to die? I've always wondered.

I saw nothing you haven't. But still.

Death is a moment of truth. The moment you realize who has been betraying you all alone. And who hasn't. Which is, of course, yourself.

You're saying that you saw you were the only one not betraying yourself, or that you were the one who was?

Interesting to have such revelations right before death. I suppose that's ironic; one spends one's life trying to figure out all this and then discovers it right before it doesn't matter anymore.

Not the result you had been hoping for?

You think I want to be trapped here? Think again; I want to go back as much as you do. I loathe this abysmal pit.

Really? I think that this place has rather grown on me.

Rubedo mentioned that he wished to have a picture taken of us?

Ah, yes. He did. He also failed to tell me where and when we were going to meet. I suppose you know?

You enjoy this place? You're stranger than I ever was. You like the curses, and the immortality of sorts, and the strange monsters that roam the land and destroy anything in their path? I'm surprised; you didn't seem like that type.

Besides, what is happening to your precious Kukai Foundation while you're cavorting in this place?
