Just got back from dinner with jmtkalcich - fondue done really, really well. Battered edam dunked in boiling oil for a while, then dipped in sweet sauce. Georgeous. Also about 10 other things I now want to replicate. Those involving olives possibly being silliest

I've had immortal processes before. They can go into an ininterruptible wait, which is just that. I think it can happen when I/O stops behaving properly (as that's what they go into that wait for, typically).

graphviz is pretty good.

Graphviz is, in fact, the shiznit. I believe they even give graphing module dependencies as an example of a useful application. It also copes well with Assassins targetting graphs.
