"Should I consider our promises kept, then?" Fuji asks as they leave, and Tezuka inclines his head minutely, in a short nod.

"Ah."

Fuji thinks maybe he imagined the half-smile that crossed Tezuka's lips just then. Tezuka doesn't turn to look at him, eyes looking straight ahead, as always. They walk together in a companionable silence for a while, their shoulders almost bumping every other step. And Fuji lets his hand brush against Tezuka's, just light enough so Tezuka probably won't even notice.

But Fuji knows he's not imagining it at all, when Tezuka's fingers twine with his, warm and strong.

And Fuji smiles.
