I've turned to a stick figure on crumpled notebook paper with nothing better to do than be flat all the time. No dimension, no contrast.

Purple is the color of mourning for widows in Thailand. I want to be painted in every shade of purple: in lilac, orchid, lavender, royal, tyrian, violet. I want to open all the windows when the trees are bare, the ponds like glass, the skirt of leaves frostbiten. Winter. I love the sound of rain on pavement. I love a good thunderstorm to break up the thick summer air.

Everything hurts, therefore sleep is required. Sleep is required, therefore everything hurts. Tomorrow Kelsey and I will watch Disney movies. Tomorrow Kelsey and I will eat chocolate chip pancakes. Tomorrow, school will be over.

I think I'm dying. I sort of hope that I am, too. I don't know how they expect me to write a screenplay when I'm dying. I really don't.

I'm a genius. I left my paper bag lunch in my book bag all break. I bet you can imagine the lovely scent now surrounding my book bag. Also, I decided that I'm going to the Zoo Saturday. But going at it alone is no fun, so someone should join me.

I want people to start calling me Bethy. Sorry it's been a while. Sorry that spring break is pretty much over. Sorry I have absolutely nothing interesting to say. We should watch Swing Kids, it would be fun.
