1. On Annoyance: The suiters, to my horror, have been singing along to a marathon of what I call Really Bad Musicals. This includes but is not limited to Rent, High School Musical 2 and something to do with Martin Luther K, Jr

'A Rose for Emily' - William Faulkner - is that the creepy story you're talking about? Also, I read Shakespeare in the Bush for anthro last year; it's pretty amusing.
Yup, that's the one. LOVE that story. (The other one is "Bliss," by a female author I can't remember, and the iguana reference is literally, "The Iguana." Got any authors to match up?^^) I didn't appreciate Shakespeare in the Bush when I first read it, for some reason--I think I was looking for a deeper meaning than what was implied, and was disappointed when I realized, no, that's really all there was--, but now I utterly adore it. It's one of those relativity things.
Miss you too! No one else will play adjective wars with me. I demand that we both have less to do and more time to talk.
'Bliss' by Katherine Mansfield? Modernist, vaguely homoerotic undertones; a woman is holding a dinner party and finds out that her husband is cheating on her and all of her friends are ridiculous? pear tree? that one?
can't say that i know anything about the iguana... only iguana literature i know is a short play 'the night of the iguana'. hmmm....
'the lottery' is another creepy short story.... also the plain old genre-horror 'the wendigo' and 'the willows' (algernon blackwood), both without much in the way of literary pretentions, but pulled off well.
The story about the lady who slept near his corpse is called "A Rose for Emily," by William Faulkner. Hope that lessens the stress of the day somewhat.
Yup, that would be the one--I'd completely forgotten the author, thanks=.=. Apparently it's a lot more common than I expected it to be (well, it IS Faulkner, so I don't know why I'm surprised, except for the fact that I didn't remember it was Faulkner...)
Leftover Stress from Saturday= officially lessened. Except now I don't have time to hunt down an electric copyXD.
(The first one I mentioned is titled "Bliss," but I also don't know the author. Any idea?)

I remember reading 'the wendigo' and 'willows,' but will have to look into 'the lottery'... later. must return to slavery, now.
