Dear SAA Convention People,

Do not blame me if there is a contradiction in my registration form.  I searched on your website for upwards of a half an hour for an FAQ while filling it out.  Nowhere did you offer one, and nowhere did you discuss WTH the various membership fields actually meant.  Specifically, no where did you state that "student- ( Read more... )

That sounds like my experience with the design convention I was forced to attend my second to last semester....

You know, I'm only NOW noticing the, like, three fragments that are in my letter...

arugh, I hate self-important people/associations ~.~ I remember you talking about the pain and anguish of that convention, too. I wish I DIDN'T have a better understanding of it, thoughXD

The part that really gets me is, if you want to submit a paper for the conference, you at the same time also had to register to ATTEND the conference. I get -why- they do this, but that doesn't mean I agree with the reasoning... specifically, if I'm not giving a paper, I can't afford the expense of just attending for the hell of it...
(For the SAA, you also have to become a member in order to give the paper - but they DON'T tell you whether or not your paper's been accepted until three months past the deadline of becoming a member.)
