i'm so disgusted with myself i'm going to do this publicly

Jun 08, 2009 13:52

I weighed myself over the weekend. I could tell by the fit (and I use that term in the loosest--or rather tightest and most uncomfortable sense of the word possible) of my clothes that I've put on weight, but when I looked at the number I got a shock. I am going to share that number with you, because I think one of the only ways to get myself to do ( Read more... )

I feel uncomfortable sharing my weight with people, but since you said yours -- I'm five foot four, and I weigh 154 pounds, and I haaaate it. I just compulsively eat. All the time. I grew up with my mum binge-eating all the damn time and I copied, and I'm trying so hard to break it, but every time I come back home I'm falling right back into it again. Ach.

I say this while gorging on chocolate easter eggs I didn't eat last time I was home. Yay that I didn't eat them last time, fuck that I'm eating them now. Still, I've so far stuck to chocolate and not gone for crisps or biscuits or cereal bars or anything else I normally go right for, so maybe once this chocolate is out of the way I can get back to it...

Well...I'm less than an inch taller than you (I'm just under 5'5), and about 45 lbs more than you. But I know that it's not just numbers, it's comfort level. So I'm going to be cheering you on to resist the lure of the crisps! ♥

I know you've got further to go than me, but honestly, you probably have better willpower.

Go you! *cheers*
I am 5'8" and was 225 lbs! I'm down to around 210 lbs (which is what I was when we last saw each other at ycon) now and my goal is 180 lbs which might make me look too thin but we'll see.

YOU CAN DOOOOO IT!

Go go go! *tries to go along with you!*

I was 140 lbs the very first time we met at ycon all those years ago. I would really like to hit that weight again, because I think it suited my frame. Unlike Cartman, I am not bigboned.

Okay, the "tastes like size 8" plan may be the most awesome idea I've heard in a long time.

YOU GO, MUSKRIT!

I don't know, but I think it's actually working! Because if I say it like that, I picture myself when I was a size 8 and then I remember how great I felt in addition to how I looked, and that's pretty good motivation.

Well, you just saw that ST pic I sent you today...
About 3 months ago at a doctor's appt, they weighed me with all my clothes on, plus my hiking boots! = 199!

Last Monday I went to a free diabetes screening test, and was weighed with my hiking boots again! = 192 (They told me my glucose and bp were ok, I just wanted to have it checked for free.)

Go, Steph, go! So what have you been doing? Are you following a specific plan?

I had the same sort of "aaah" experience recently. I've been using Sparkpeople.com which is helping me keep on track so far. Losing about 1-2 lbs a week (which I hear is healthy).

So this is a longwinded way of saying I'M CHEERING YOU ON!!!!!

Thank you! 2 lbs a week is my goal. I aspire to your achievements! (In this as in so many things...) I'll have to check out sparkpeople.com.
