i found turning 30 to be very liberating. i realized that i had a whole decade ahead of me where i was still young enough to have tons of fun, but mature enough not to be as neurotic as i was in my 20s. all the fun, not as much of the baggage.

but having said that, i went through a crisis at 25. and i've heard a lot of women find 25 to be harder than 30. no idea how true that really is.

I'll send you some black balloons and pour a little wine on the ground for the loss of your youth. We'll all wear black on your birthday as a symbol of your despair. I'll even travel to Nashville and we can hold a funeral service for your 20s if you feel extra macabre. It would probably be really fun, oops I mean cathartic.
