I'm not moving anytime soon, but I often debate if I'm leaving Hackensack (or the area), or if I will move elsewhere. I mean, I work in NYC but it's so nice to come home to peace and quiet. And two Targets and a Whole Foods within walking distance of my house!
Yeah, I do like the boroughs more than NJ overall. Even when I lived in Montclair and most things were walkable, you still need a car to get out of town, unlike the subway accessible boroughs. I also like the food co-op and farmer's markets over Whole Foods although I'll do WF if I have to (and I avoid Target usually even though there's 1 in Atlantic Ctr on the way home on the subway), but that is pretty good for being in car-centric NJ that you can walk to both! The places I've been in NJ have been a little *too* quiet and I think NJ makes me prone to being depressed! Maybe that's just because my family lives there!
