A pictoral Recap

So I've been meaning to post about my Vermont trip, so here it is:

So I flew to CT at midnight on the 5th, it was a lot of travel time with a two hour connection and everything, and I wasn't able to sleep much at all. I arrived, Julie picked me up, we ran some errands, and went back to her parents' place. We decided that it would be better if we just drove up to VT that night and paid for the extra day so that we wouldn't have to drive up, maybe not be able to check in before the wedding, and change in a bathroom before going to it. I napped while Julie was at work, and once she got home we drove up. It was quite a bit of but not too bad.

We got there and were greeted by the LARGEST St. Bernard I've ever seen...he was larger than Julie and I put together.

He barked at us, scaring the shit out of us for a minute, and then we met the night guy, who we call Norman, as in, Norman Bates, cause the dude was creepy, and left the hot tub open for us which made us feel like we HAD to use it. We used it for a little, then went to bed.

The next day we went and got a small breakfast (in the afternoon), then came back and changed for the wedding (at 4pm). Julie looked cute:

We went down to the wedding outside, but just as they were trying to get everyone outside, it started to rain, so we all stood around waiting for it to pass. After a bit, we all went inside and they started to set up to have the ceremony inside. It was still a great wedding, nice and short, and Amy (my friend getting married) looked great:

We had cocktail hour, then went to the reception which was fun for the most part. I actually danced several slow dances with Julie, which most of you should know is a HUGE step for me, but Julie didn't see that since she ACTUALLY said to me "Wow, I didn't realize how important it was to me that the guy I'm dating to like to dance"!!!! WTF! Way to fucking stab me in the back, I'm trying here, it's a GIANT fucking issue for me to dance, and I think I'm making a big leap here, and she just steps all over it. That didn't leave me with the best feeling. Anyway, after the reception ended, we went down to the hot tub with the wedding party and chilled there for a bit, then went to bed.

The next day, we went to breakfast with the wedding party, did a few errands, and then the weather wasn't looking too bad (it was supposed to rain the ENTIRE time we were up there), so we took advantage of it and went out to find somewhere to go riding. We found out Killington Mtn. had a bunch of bike trails, so we did the short drive up there and went to do the easy trails...which kicked my ass. It was about 3 miles or so, but a lot of rolling hills and VERY rocky. So we finished that, and went back to the hotel to shower. After a nap, we got up and went out for dinner at this little restaurant in another hotel. We had the room to ourselves, and the food was great.

The next day we were gonna try to do all of the tours of places and everything since it was supposed to rain. We turned on the weather channel to discover that there was hail and hurricane force winds where we wanted to go. We waited it out, and when it pretty much passed the area, we started the hour and a half drive up there.

First stop: We went to the Cider Mill and had some great fresh cider and a cider doughnut (which was to DIE for, it was SO good!):

There was no production that day, so no tour. Then we went across the street to a winery, and hoped to get a tour there, but that was just an offshoot of the main winery, which was over an hour away, so we just did a wine tasting of their not-so-good wines, and moved on to the next stop: Cabot Creamery, which also had a chocolate shop and a wine shop in it, so we did another wine tasting with MUCH better wines:

That was awesome, we picked up some truffles, had the wine, found out Seriously Sharp Cheddar is the best one, and then headed out to our next stop: Ben & Jerry's Factory:

We did the tour, where we saw them throwing out an entire batch because they had lost power and it threw off the entire production. We got our free samples, and then our own outside while we waited for some of the rain to clear, which it did.

That was the end of our adventures up north, so we headed back to the lodge. We took a scenic route detour on the way back and found Texas Falls National Forest:

We explored around here for a while until we thought the sun was going down a little to much to continue hanging out in the forest. So we continued back. Went to dinner at a cool open fire pizza place, where we lost power for a few minutes, and listen to hail on the roof and GIANT flashes of lightning. It was really good, but I started to get really sick (apparently, even though I have trouble with dairy, taking Lactaid makes it FIFTY TIMES WORSE). So the rest of the evening was me in pain laying on the bed. But the day was really good since we managed to avoid ever being caught in the rain.

We drove back down to CT the next morning, Julie went to work, her dad came home, hung out with him and his best friend for a while, which was fine, her dad likes me. Then Julie came home and we hung out for a while, I had a 6:30am flight, so we kind of napped a little separately and farted around online. The flights back sucked, but I slept a bunch. The end.
