I'm also really curious why Champions are appointed in Unova, or at least were for the last number of years.
Thanks for writing and sharing this!

I'm not really sure how they appoint Champions in Unova (maybe perhaps the same way the other regions do?), but I do know that Alder was supposedly asked by the Elite Four to be Champion because the one before him disappeared. At least that's what it says in his Bulbapedia article.

Huh! I will have to keep an eye out for more information on that then. I should really read the manga or something; I hear they have more of the background than the games do...
Thanks again!

And to say that I love what you've written to pieces. I've been fascinated by this pairing right from the start (and I think I still have scripts to every in-game Alder and Cheren conversation carefully written out somewhere lol), and I must say that the way you wrote them both quite true to canon and lifelike. Although my own interpretation of these characters slightly differs, I had no problem with believing in your Alder and Cheren, which by no doubt was helped by length of this fic, allowing greater character depth and slow, thoughtful build-up ( ... )

I'm so glad you've been enjoying this fic so much. And it's always nice to meet another person who loves the pairing! I have such a soft spot for it, I'm surprised more people don't seem to ship it.
May I ask how you found it? Did you participate in the Big Bang last year? I'm thinking of posting this elsewhere for people to read, since some seem to like it.
Anyway, thanks again! ♥

I always seem to ship pairings that are not mainstream in any way, so it's not surprising to find that this particular pairing's not that popular. I wish it was, though.
Oh, sure, I tried participating last year, but it got complicated - let's just say that getting two masters degrees in two differen countries is hard - and in the end I had a very stressfull summer that had no room for pokemon, unfortunately. In the end I only read the results.
I signed up as a beta for the one this year, though, and I'm looking forward to it.
You should post it on Archive Of Our Own, I think. It's a nice place as far as I can see, at least for reading, I didn't post anything there myself.
