Aw *hugs* I always wondered what happened to your dad. I'm really sorry. I don't think there is anything wrong with humour. My Dad didn't die, but he came close, and I do joke about it. We all do. Humour is a wonderful thing. If your dad was anything like you are, I'm sure he'd be laughing along with you.
yeah I've noticed that I mention Mrs. Mum quite often, but comments on Dad are a bit thin on the ground. Must look like they're divorced to all that don't know better. Dad was as much of a character as we are. If we ever asked at the end on a dinner "Can I get down for the table?" his response was always "No, you get down from a Duck." He defiantly needed a sense of humour to cope with the 8 of us...
I suppose he left an empty space that won't ever be filled. You accept it but don't want to joke about it. I think I would behave the same way if my father was dead.
You have 6 siblings? (you said "the eight of us" talking about the members of your family)
no, i'm willing to joke, but most people seem to think that it's in poor taste. when I said comments on Dad are a bit scarce I meant I rarely comment on him on the Inverloch Forums...
and i'm actually the 7th of 8 kids... 5 older brothers, 1 older and 1 younger sister.
