People who have taken some kind of intro psych course would have probably been introduced to the concept of cognitive dissonance. HEYYYYY.

Interesting post. I think we need a coherent sense of self to just... live life meaningfully day to day. A possible test case of someone without a coherent sense of self might be amnesiacs - it's conceivably hard to maintain goals, relationships and even one's identity?

HEYY. great point!

but here's a random thought.. maybe people have different standards about how inconsistent they can tolerate themselves to be. and if the amount of meaning depends on the degree of coherence of the self, then do people who have less coherent self experience less meaning out of life?
