Work, home, work, home, work, home

Am I the only one who's pissed off that we don't get summer vacation as adults? I was just thinking today that Saturday is really close (I always have Sunday and Monday off, so Saturday is like my Friday...or something like that,) but then I remembered how fast the weekend seems to pass. I never feel like I was really refreshed by the time off. ( Read more... )

Two days off still doesn't feel like much. I miss having months at a time off.

Trust me, I know the feeling. I think one of the secrets is to try to get out of the trap of 'weekend' thinking. You know, the idea that all the fun stuff needs to be reserved for Friday night through Sunday (or Saturday night through Monday, in your case). Obviously, there are some things that DO require a full day off, but... I find if you spice up the weekday routine occasionally (go out for dinner and a movie on some random night like Wednesday, or something), it helps with that frantic 'doing nothing but working' feeling.

Yeah, we do that every once in a while, and we really should do it more. Mind you, we can't really go out for very long on weeknights (I work til 9 pm, and he gets up at about 7 am.) That's definitely a good way to look at it, though.

I've gotten into the habit of figuring out something to look forward too a few weeks out at a time... a holiday off, a movie premiere, a trip outta town, a game release... something to keep me looking further out than the upcoming weekend. That let's me enjoy Friday and Sat. without too much dread on Sunday since it'll be one day closer to 'whatever' day instead of another boring work week. Just a thought.

P.S. Allyson looks really hot in your mood icon, what pic is that???

Yeah, but Matt and I enjoy vegging out at home so much that it's hard not to look forward to it, lol.

And I really have no clue where the pic is from...but she does look hot.
