I think I know a soldier who just got out of the Army three days ago, and another soldier sitting in Baghdad right now who'd find interest in this....http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1521&e=3&u=/afp/

How much research do you really think they had to do to come to the conclusion that soldiers, their families and everyone else would prefer a 6 or 9 month tour to a year? I mean honestly! I'd like to be getting paid for research like that!!

It does seem like common sense, doesn't it? The way the Army works though, you put in a lot of work and money to figure out something, document it, and THEN they manage to complicate the common sense approach in a long, drawn out document where they force everyone to go to briefings.

On the otherhand, anyone who has known someone in Iraq or Afghanistan can tell you that after six months, the soldiers hit brick walls in morale. I watched it happen in the middle of the summer...people were tired, homesick, and it was 120 degrees outside.
