Day 02 - Your first love, in great detail
WHERE DO I BEGIN.
We met when I was young. Far too young for me to remember when exactly, but let me tell you, it was love at first sight.
Or should I say taste?
My first love are the oh-so-delicious dill pickles. Only dill, however. I don't cheat on them with sweet or bread & butter or any other crazy disgusting flavor.
Their crunchiness. Their saltiness. Their bite. I love everything about them, whether they're sliced or whole. They make me feel happier than any other food can and they are the only food I can eat and eat and eat without getting tired of. Even when I'm so full I could throw up, I always find room for a(nother) pickle.
I'm not sure who introduced me to dill pickles. I think it was my grandparents (who also, coincidentally enough, introduced me to my second greatest love -- pepperoni and green olive pizza), but regardless, I am very grateful to them for providing me with such a delectable food to have fallen in love with.
But through everything, dill pickles have been there for me and they have always stayed as wonderful and tasty as the first time I had them, all those years ago, and for that, they will always be my first -- and my one and only true -- love.
