[Sollux is outside of Building 8, frolicking around the fountain.

Unfortunately, today Sollux is a foot-long six-legged insect, rather than the usual five-foot troll shape.

He's getting sort of close to the water]

[ now that her phone has been safely buried to be excavated later, aradia is exploring this wide-open new territory. she doesn't take much notice of the people shying from her path, their shapes being filed under 'not really much of anything' in her instincts, and heads right over to the first grub she sees. HI SOLLUX ]

[Oh! It's another red grub, though a different colour red. He sees her and waves a front foot, then hops down from the edge of the fountain and trots toward her, chittering happily]

[ she chirrups, headbutting him lightly in greeting. she's dirty as anything after digging her holes, but that sulky purple grub wasn't much fun at all so she is ready to play!!! ]

[He isn't sure he likes the headbutting, and he chirps in protest, backing away a step or two. But he doesn't mind the dirt, or the playing. He prods her with a foot and darts away a foot, chirping again]

[Most of what they did before was nuzzling and sleeping. So when Erigrub comes across his new friend outside, he is only too ready to turn this into playtime!

Which he feels is best accomplished by running up behind him and chirruping loudly.]

[Solgrub isn't expecting to have someone chirrupping right behind him. He yelps in surprise and jumps forward...

...right into the pool.

[Whoa, okay, Erigrub guesses that means it's swimming time! He can roll with that. He climbs in after him and peddles his little grub feet, instinctively swimming himself in circles around Solgrub.]

[Meanwhile, Solgrub has no such instincts, and he flails rather ineffectually, barely able to keep his head above the water. He makes scared little screetching noises every time his mouth is above the surface.]

[ with tanglebuddy gone, Kargrub obviously is a little more than disturbed. to go out and find his friend by a fountain?

he's hissing. that's dangerous!

get the fuck down from there. ]

[The hiss startles him, but this time he doesn't fall. He looks down at Kargrub and squeaks in greeting, jumping down to give his friend an enthusiastic nuzzle]

[ his front legs nudge the other down. like Kargrub is going to wriggle on top of Solgrub.

stay put, fuckass. the ground is where you belong. don't worry him. ]

[Oh. Solgrub wriggles his butt a little as Kargrub climbs on top of him, then lifts up again and begins to crawl forward. This is like the game he played with Eridan, before, only without water! Though it's sort of hard to carry another grub.]

[ sure is bugs outside today. sits down on the edge of the fountain, not at all worried about the depth of the water or the shortness of sollux's legs, nope. ]

[Huh! Solgrub was innocently skittering around the fountain, but now there's a big fleshy something in his way. He pauses and chirps curiously, prodding Dave's thigh with a foot]

I don't even want to know how you went from this to how you were yesterday. Must've been a hell of an awkward stage.

[Solgrub has no idea what the funny pink creature is saying, or even that the funny pink creature is saying anything. But he sniffs the pink creature and then crawls into his lap and curls up with a contented cheeping sound]
