A frustrated Eric ranged the doorbell for the millionth time to Hyesung’s condo. He hadn’t gotten any response for about ten minutes.
“Damn, why’d he tell me to come over for when he’s not even answering the stupid door?” Eric turned around and leaned his back against the door, crossing his arms. “Is this some kind of a joke?” Eric closed his eyes.
Like slow motion his body fell backwards into an empty space, he hit the floor hard and winced in pain. He looked up noticing the all familiar face. Immediately he became annoyed.
“You had me standing out here for hours.” Eric complained
“Hours? Actually more like ten minutes.” Hyesung corrected sounding like some stuck up honor student. He watched intently as Eric got up to his feet, rubbing the back of his head. “Sorry.”
“Accepted.” Eric said. “So what’s up?”
“You left your stuff here in my house again. Remember yesterday for lunch? You decided to leave your jacket here.”
Eric gaped in disbelief. “Are you kidding me? You called me all the way up here to pick up a jacket?”
Hyesung smiled. “Don’t want it?”
Eric sulked. He was exhausted and driving for thirty minutes to his friend’s condo wasn’t the thing he wanted to be doing at that moment. He wished that he was lying in his warm comfortable bed at that moment.
Eric walked pass Hyesung without saying anything. For some reason he felt that Hyesung was pissed off at him for something. I mean Hyesung asking him to hurry over just to get some jacket wasn’t exactly normal. Something was on the lead singers mind.
“Eric?”
Eric spotted his jacket across the room lying on the sofa. “Yea?”
“Are you mad at me?”
Eric slightly turned his head. His brows furrowed. Hyesung was sounding strange to him. “Er, no. I’m just disappointed that I drove all the way here for some jacket. I thought it was an emergency.”
Hyesung shut his door closed. “Well, it is actually.”
Eric was now more interested in Hyesung rather than the coat. He brought his attention to him. He watched as Hyesung ambled his way towards him timidly. Hyesung took a deep breath and stared into Eric’s eyes.
“It’s about Kang ta.”
“Huh? Kang ta?” Eric sounded confused.
Hyesung nervously ran a hand through his silky smooth forelocks. “If you’re not interested, I won’t force you to listen.”
“No, I’m just saying. If it’s about you and Kang ta’s relationship, I’m not sure I can help you. Don’t you usually go to Dong wan or JunJin about this? I never have been in a man to man relationship before and besides….”
‘There he goes rambling on and on again,’ thought Hyesung slightly rolling his eyes.
Hyesung continued to listen, and after a while he discovered that Eric’s incoherent words were charming to him. He always found Eric cute, in certain areas. He didn’t like it when Eric blasted his rap music loudly on the stereo or computer. That wasn’t cute to him or the fact that Eric never took anything seriously (only sometimes). Eric would say things that would make him mad, but Eric would do something utterly adorable to make up for it, leaving Hyesung to forgive him in an instant. Then there were the times where Eric would be messy and forget how anal Hyesung was. This would accumulate to tiny disputes, but they would always end with a kiss on the cheek or a big hug. Hyesung constantly found those types of things adorable. He also liked how Eric was more aware that he’s embarrassed of his own body, because Minwoo would always try to rip off his shirt. Eric at least, considered his feelings in that ONE area, but everything else, Eric failed.
“Are you done yet?” Hyesung asked simply refraining from laughing.
Eric pouted. “Were you even listening?”
Hyesung nodded yes.
If Eric didn’t have those faults, then he wouldn’t be the lovable Eric Mun that everybody adored today. Hyesung liked it that way.
Eric uncomfortably waited for Hyesung to talk about his relationship problems, if there was one. He stared down at his shoes.
“I take it that you don’t want to listen.” Hyesung spoke flatly. “You can go about your day.”
“No, I didn’t say that. You can confide in me Hyesung. Don’t take it the wrong idea. It’s just that…well we date two different people. Different groups of people.” Eric said looking up at Hyesung’s gaze that almost appeared to be laughing at him. “The last date I’ve been on was with a girl.”
“I know, I know. But gay relationships can’t be that different from hetero relationships.”
“They are so.”
“Not.”
There was an awkward silence as Hyesung longingly looked at Eric. It almost made Eric want to laugh. Hyesung always kept his affairs a secret and he barely spoke about them in front of Eric. Eric was the last person he who would confide to about Kang Ta.
Eric partially smiled. “Okay, tell me what’s going on? If I don’t get it, then I’m right. Homo and Hetero are different.”
Hyesung laughed.
Eric frowned. He was very confused.

Eventually Hyesung allowed Eric to take a nap on his comfortable bed. Eric rested on his stomach, head on the pillow, mouth slightly opened with some drool hanging from the corner of his lips, Hyesung observed him with interest.
‘Look at him, drooling. Why do I like that?’
Hyesung repositioned himself in his chair, resting his elbow on the arm.
‘He’s so immature.’
Hyesung slightly flinched when Eric abruptly laughed in his sleep. This resulted in the young man turning over on his back. His one arm dangled off the bed and so was his leg now. His hair was disheveled all over the place.
‘You’re lucky, so lucky…that I love you like this.’
Hyesung grinned complacently.
