Lets Start a Rebelion.

Let me preface this by saying that no one has to read it. It's just some stuff that's been on my mind lately. Read it or not, either way, I don't really mind, and I promise that if you don't read it, my feeeling wont be hurt.

A lot of shit has been on my mind lately. Some good, some not as good. I guess one thing is immaturity and how many different forms it can be manifested in. Obviously it's irratating in it's most simple form, that being: drawing penises on everything, being close minded and loud, ignorance and arrogance etc. But sometimes we fail to see it in the more subtle and, in my opinion, worse forms. Such as bind, unquestioning faith for whatever reason. Be it religion, being gullible, simplicity, having a sheltered life (mentally, at least) to name a few. It's when people can't form their own opinions, when they become "A Clockwork Ornage" (Thank you Mr. Burges), when they sucumb to becoming a mindless being with no outstanding traits. That's what bothers me. I'm not saying that you should rebel for the sake of rebeling (which also happens to be another form of immaturity [identical 'goth kids' smoking at Denny's, anyone?]). It's okay to agree with the mainstream. In fact, odds are it is the mainstream because it is a favorable situation or idea. But it's also okay to have your own opinion. Even if no one else will listen to you, so long as you are able to actually think on your own. In short, don't be afraid to be an individual, it's okay, I promise. Okay, enough of that.

I suppose the next thing that's been on my mind is what I like to call the Yajem Complex (Cool name, I just thought of it). What it entails is basically the quote, "Evil is subjective." Or, more importantly, when people can't understand it. Life is random and inexplicable, you can't have one set of rules to live by. It just doesn't work. This world that we live in is not a friendly, warm and fuzy place. It's a live and let die enviroment (sorry for the cliche). I'm sorry but I'd rather save my own ass, even if it means doing somethign that I normally would be oppoesd to. Ask yourself this, if someone you loved had an illness that you couldn't get a cure for unless you killed someone else (a stragner, but another person nonetheless), would you or could you do it? To save your love, commit an act that is denoucned by all religions and societies. It's sorta like that. Life changes, every moment has the potential to change every philosophy that you have ever had. To be stuck between a rock an a hard place, which do you choose? You're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't and so on and so forth. All that a person can do is just go with it. Take the ball and run, you can't change the fact that it hapened, but you can alter what is going to happen because of it. It's hard to explain, words are beyond me right now, but you get the idea, I hope.

That brings us to this point, I promise, I'll keep it short.
GROW UP
That goes out to everyone and back to the immaturity a little bit. We all need to grow up, no one is excluded from that. Some of us have some more growing than others, but we could all benifit from it.

I've come to the conclusion that my world is sweet, there is hardly anything wrong with it and it's a pretty nice place to live. It's that way because of who I surround myself with, and the issues that we face on a regular basis. You can call it an uninformed, comatose life if you want (Besides, we're just all american kids who want to drink 40's and smoke blunts, isn't that right Mr. Maunu?) but I call it enjoying my life. Why should I get my panties in a twist because of what's going on half way around the world that only vaugly affects me, a 17 year old highschool student who's waiting for summer vacation on Grosse Ile? If that's the life I wanted to live, in a world where those things did adversly affect me, I could. I'd be a polotican. But I don't want to because I don't like them. It's the "real" world that gets me down, how brutal of a place it really is. Corprate America is a bad place, corruption, insinserity, back stabbing etc. Personlly, I never want to live in the "real" world. I'll make my own world, and be happy in it. Being happy isn't as much of a sin as the masses would lead you to believe. Anyone who wants to join my world can, it's not any sort of exclusive club, I just want to enjoy myself, is that so bad? It's not the quantity of your years, but the quality.

Whatever, I've ceased to make any sense what so ever. So I'm done

~Matt
