My dad really likes the denim and linen/cotton mix shirts from Primark. They've lasted ages. Also he is fond of the cotton shirts from both Tesco and Asda.

C&A and Monoprix are also really good if you ever happen to be in France

Damn, he was in France just this week, probably won't be back there for a few months now.

I'm really conflicted about Primark: I have a few t-shirts and leggings from there, and I keep expecting them to fall apart as they were so cheap. Thanks for letting me know that they last: I'll have a look next time I'm nearby!

Land's End? My dad is very fond of the Land's End shirt. There's a factory shop in Rutland if you're anywhere around there, though these days it's probably very easy to get reduced price ones online.

Oof, the reduced price (~£20) ones are all pretty awful. If he can grit his teeth and go for the full price (~£35) ones, they're several that would probably meet his criteria!

Was going to say Lands End.
TK Maxx often have such things.

Rutland's a bit far for a shopping trip, but I'll have a look at their website, might be able to catch a sale.

TK Maxx as a first stop, and after that, Uniqlo. I think Uniqlo are wonderful in pretty much everything they do and I'd say that about 50% of my clothing is from that store. My only complaint with their shirts is that they don't always have enough room for my boobs but I doubt your husband will have that problem. :)

Seconding Uniqlo - very good quality and very hard-wearing, and I buy stuff from their menswear sections for exercise and drama-teaching.

Also seconding you about their lack of boob-space and generally weird sizing for women's stuff. I did a sale haul in there once and came out with six things in six different sizes.

I would think he'll be ok with lack of boob space!

We're heading near to a Uniqlo next week, so I think that's going to be the place to start. Thanks!
