Weird, I just watched this great documentary about Nick Drake yesterday and it got me thinking about all of the great artists who have committed suicide or accidentally overdosed, and how greatly their work has influenced the world (and me). I was thinking primarily of Jim Morrison, Ian Curtis, Elliott Smith, Ernest Hemingway, Hunter S. Thompson, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, John Bonham, Jeff Buckley, Kurt Cobain. But Heath Ledger's death surprised me the most.

I'd have loved to have heard Ian Curtis do Blue Monday. I've always thought that New Order's discography would've sounded amazing (Not better, just different) had Ian been involved.
