At this point, i'd just like to post up what one of my seniors posted on her facebook wall.

'From one citizen to another, I'd like to remind us that everyone has the right to express their views about the GE and people who are pro-PAP should not be labelled as 'brainwashed'/'dumb'. An individual has the right to support whatever party he chooses.

agree about maslow's hierarchy of needs! which was why i wasn't entirely surprised (although v disappointed) that WKS won here. but very very delighted that Aljunied voters thought otherwise.

hee rach you should know i'd be pro-opp.

but strange though - many political theorists propound the view that once people's tummies are satisfied and they live relatively comfortable lives their day-to-day concerns tend to shift beyond these basics, ie into things like politics, rather than just material comfort. and strangely, singapore, despite being relatively comfortable, still hasn't progressed beyond these concerns. wonder why.
