My boss just gave me an assignment that will keep me busy until I leave tomorrow. Unbelievable.

So, happy hour? Yeah, we'll see...

Wow. Your last day is tomorrow before you start a new job right?

Yes! Then two glorious weeks off (well, one in NY with family and friends and another dealing with The Wedding with The Dress). Then, new job. New Job. On April 4th. Exciting and scary all at once!

Yes, at least *someone* understands that.

Just not anyone in my office.

Oh, and the secretary will be out tomorrow, so I get to answer the phones all day too.

"Melissa, why are you leaving this job?"

I must confess to being totally unsurprised. I guess my year of firm life made me cynical.

The problem is, this actually isn't firm life that she's living. There's so much red-tape that goes into leaving a large firm, or so I've seen from people leaving here, that the last day is not busy with an assignment for a client.

That being said, screw it. Get it done if you can before happy hour. And if not, well you already have your new job, right? :-)
