When things are going well I tend to post small, shallow, frivolous posts, and since life seems to be treating me exceedingly well lately, I'm going to natter on blithely about shopping

I've had good luck consulting the sales staff, especially if you can find someone in your season. Many of them are trained in fitting their stock and they are pretty much guaranteed to be objective. It's in their interest after all, to make sure you're satisfied with how you look.

I'd offer to go shopping with you, but I suck at shopping (as in, I depend on Mom and Abby for help with stuff). Also, I get sick of it after a while.
