Another Knitting Rant

You are NOT doing it wrong if you are holding the needles comfortably, making the stitches so they look like the "picture" or come out to your satisfaction. It matters NOT if you knit English or Continental or some bastardization in between (as I do) . Find what is comfortable for you, learn it, love it and love what you are creating ( Read more... )

See, it's this kind of stuff that makes me loathe to knit in public, because the way I hold the needles is unconventionally continental and I'm embarrassed by it. . . Figuring I'll hear comments, you know?

In the book I learned to crochet from, it said "whatever way feels right to you is correct." I liked that sentiment, so I didn't bother to learn how to knit any other way. . . Doesn't make me feel any less embarrassed by how it must look, though.
