You don't have to. You want to, and that's fine, but you have to not be mean about it. You gotta say "You need to watch the score, but you caught that snitch really well, Alfie, well done. And now you'll know better next time. Good job." And tell Aiden and Arlo they played well too. And also tell them you'd still love them even if they played badly or they gave up Quidditch because family is more important than a game.
And they will! They just gotta know you support them unconditionally.
Um, also, if you see Sylvie Scott-they Slytherin team captain?-could you please tell her she did good too? Slytherin had to field a new team because a chaser got expelled for being a violent stalking weirdo, towards her specifically, and I think she's super worried the loss was her fault for not being a great captain. Which is dumb. You maybe shouldn't let on you know about the weirdo, though, that will make her even more self-conscious. And don't seek her out, or it will be really super obvious that I put you up to it!
Sylvie Scott? I heard of her. She's rather good. If I cross her path I'll let her know.
I heard about the Montague boy. That's a shame. Hogwarts shouldn't have let that go on so long. Poor girl. But I hear Mulciber put it right. [Viktor knows Caderyn Mulciber and despises him. He remembers who funded the werewolf hunters and is still angry they weren't all held accountable.]
I do love my kids. All of them. That's why I hold them to a high standard by the way. I know they're capable of greatness. But I love them unconditionally. If they don't know that then I need to fix that.
I haven't asked him, but I think maybe Alfie was worried because he hadn't caught the snitch yet this year, and now you were here to watch him and it was his very last chance... I don't know. Anxiety makes you do weird sh- stuff.
Don't be mean to Alfie.

I won't be mean. But he made a mistake. He needs to learn from that.

If you're mean, you're spending the rest of the weekend with pink hair. I can do that, you know. Hot pink. I can make it glow in the dark too.

And I can fix it.
Reply
Will you be able to, though? I am very sneaky.
Reply
Maybe. Maybe not. But I could live with pink hair for a while. It might even look good on me.

It would! *Bolly giggles, then catches himself, and attempts to look intimidating again.*

I don't want to hurt his feelings. But Alfie made a mistake. That's the truth.
He's a good kid and I love him. But I have to teach him.

You're right. I get frustrated. They're all talented. I just want them to do well.

I hadn't thought about that. That's a fair point. I'll be gentle when I talk to him.I;m sure Arlo wil make him feel bad enough.

Okay, thanks! I guess I should go talk to Arlo too.

Probably. He can be tense and hard on people. He gets that from me.
