There's a season for breakups?

Many relationships don't stand the combined stress of exams, prom, graduation, and the upcoming summer holiday. There were three breakups over the weekend.

That's sad. I was just thinking the other day how weird it will be not to see Dae or Blue every day while at school after this term is over. I guess that feeling must be much worse if you're dating. ...sometimes I worry Blue and Sofie will break up because she'll be at school all the time and he'll be at practice or whatever, and then what do we do? Everything will be super awkward.

Being realistic, they'll most likely break up and it'll be up to them to renegotiate their relationship from there. I don't imagine it'll be infidelity on either part though, they'll probably be fine. I understand distance is bad for relationships but beneficial after a breakup.

Sofie's our cousin or sister, so we'll all have to take her side. But if they break up, they might get back together again after Sofie leaves school too, and then that'll fix it? I don't know. Sofie is pretty good at holding grudges against people. Sometimes I think people shouldn't date at all until they're out of Hogwarts. It just seems to make everything weird.

I agree the benefits do not in any way outweigh the risks and inconveniences. But people will make their choices and that's their prerogative. You don't have to take any side. What happens in a relationship is largely not anyone's business but the people involved.

Plus I think Grampa Fred would invite Blue to the Weasley barbecue and things like that no matter what.

I don't know them well enough to say with any certainty, but it doesn't seem realistic to expect that if they break up Blue will disappear from your family. If the rumors that the band is going to record an album are to be believed then he'll at least be creatively and financially tied to the Flint brothers, if nothing else.

I hope so. Lunar Howl are really good. I really think they could make it even without being related to so many people in the industry who can help them out, so they gotta be great with all the advantages.

Success is certainly theirs to lose. I'm certain if they'd had recordings to sell at the concert we wouldn't be listening to anything else.

Yeah. The school's music rooms aren't really set up for recording, though, so there wasn't a chance for that.

Next time, then, I'm sure.

It'd be pretty cool to have another concert after exams and before school ends, but I don't think we have the time to arrange it properly.

Likely not, nearly everyone involved in the last one have exams this year, don't they?

Yep. Lottie and Arlo have OWLs and Blue has NEWTs. Plus Sofie helped with the scheduling and setup and she has OWLs too. I guess Aiden, Alfie and I could try to do it all by ourselves-set up the stage and lights and pick the set lists and all that-but there would still need to be rehearsals, and I just don't think there's time. We tried to arrange a school photo, and also a career fair, but everyone is really busy, including the professors, so I don't think we're going to manage either of those this year either.

In my experience trying to start a project during the last part of term doesn't go well. Better to plan to start things at the beginning of next year, with the benefit of using the summer to plan.
