If I had polyjuice, we could swap, but I think you'd probably find my exam super boring, not just easy, and I wouldn't be able to do yours at all, probably, so that would not work out well. But maybe this will help?
*He offers her an awkwardly wrapped purple present. Inside the hastily crumpled, colour-charmed and taped newspaper ball is a crochet ball that's doing it's very best to seem quaffle-ish. Bolly's filled it using a variation of the charms they use to make the balls for slipball, so it's tougher but still squishy, like a stress ball.*
Thank you. This is better than attempting to push the limits of the anti cheating protocols of the examination authority. *It's a good weight, excellent for throwing up casually and catching.* You might enjoy alchemy, but I wouldn't recommend the NEWT exam for it as your introduction.
We try to steer them away from developing into an arsonist but it's hard to deny they do have a certain brilliant insight into the nature and uses of fire.
The stuff about, um, con- Consu- Constantinating? No, that doesn't sound right. The thing about states or aspects of a thing independent of the thing? Like where your transfiguration doesn't change the object but adds properties that, like, co-exist with the object, like an invisible tag that can still influence things? That was super interesting as an idea. Like you're not changing a thing, but the idea of the thing.
Consubstantiality, that's right, the separation of essence and aspect. Although I enjoy alchemy as essentially experimental transfiguration, I do admire the applied philosophy.
Consubstantiality, *Bolly repeats, sounding it out before pulling out his journal and writing it down, along with "separation of essence and aspect".* I asked Professor Popa about it but she said to complete the second year syllabus first, and then ask her again if I still wanted to know.
I haven't managed to reach London yet. I did make Morse code bracelets that don't melt, but they currently only work up to about a half mile for a single pair. Since we extended the note-sharing charms range to cover the whole of Hogsmeade, they're kind of redundant. If you're in the same building, I can signal multiple bracelets at once? That's kind of cool. I think with a bit more effort, I could make the vibration charms actually transmit sound, and I could make them all send to each other, like an intercom system. But none of these are what I was trying to do to start with.
That's rather impressive regardless, all things considered. I wonder if the technology behind magchat would help? Assuming the information about it is publicly available. I would like it to be on principle but, of course, from a business perspective it would be much smarter to keep it as an industry secret.
I'm gonna work at the Manor for a bit to pay Ms Frida back for her help with the Quidditch Safety petition, even though that basically did nothing, and Auggie will want to get a head start on next years books and things, and I have some craft projects I want to finish - Sofie and I are making a baby blanket, and I have a hedgehog plan and stuff - but maybe!

I saw Kaufman's demonstration at the talent competition, but I didn't really follow it.

Sensible, there's no point in trying to discuss the metaphysical if you don't grasp the physical to begin with.

*Bolly nods solemnly.* You have to have a foundation.

Right. Did you make any progress with your alert system?
