*She just shoves over her version of their latest charms essay, which she's failed. Not even spectacularly or anything, it's just Poor. She's not even any good at failing. At least if she was doing particularly badly, continuing on would imply some ambition on her part. None of that here, it's infinitely more pathetic in her view: She's just doing her best and her best isn't any good.*
Do you think...I should probably have a back up plan if I'm not smart enough to pass all my NEWTs, don't you think? What's a Slytherin without a backup plan?
No, with the play. I'm on to do hair, makeup, and wardrobe for Sandy but it'll be tragic if the rest of the cast doesn't look as good. You can't trust the actors to do it all themselves. We know what they look like, I'm not impressed with their general beauty skills.
[Maddie giggles.] I know. I can help with wardrobe and I can probably recruit some helpers. I'm still learning the beauty charms but wardrobe would be easy.
I understand that. People are good at different things. But I am sure you can learn it, it just might be more challenging.
Knowing the words and knowing the wand movements are great and it's important. But it helps, especially with nonverbal spells if you picture in your head what the spell is meant to do. Sort of see the result you are going for? Does that make sense?
It does, I'm very good at picturing things. It's just a lot to juggle, imagining the spell while trying to do the spell? Or not, well, do the spell, but holding the words in your head? There's not that much space up there! Does that make any sense? *If it did that would be great because it made no sense to her and if he could explain, it would be very helpful. She's obviously thought about this a lot, for a while, in circles, and has pretty much overthought herself into complete confusion about it. It's unclear anymore if it's even actually supposed to be this hard or if she's making it harder than it needs to be.*
