omg. just omg. you've basically taken every single thing i want in a fic and combined it in this one glorious piece of writing. to wit:

1. au. i love me a good au. and a haunting, moody, southern gothic-type fic with truly awesome world-building? i die.

2. zlatan (cyrano!) and balotelli. glorious, brilliant men.

3. a long, lazy, falling-in-love plotline. and DV/DS to boot? i'm swooning.

4. epic character development, with musings on morality and mortality.

5. seamless incorporation of canon details. shout outs to wimblydon, meireles as a tatted up sailor, cesc and his beignets, pepe and david's easy friendship, endlessly smiling micah richards, cigar smoking gentleman joe hart, the masquerade ball, kitier katba!

6. brilliant, sympathetic depictions of three boss wags.

i'm over the moon about this fic, seriously. off to go shout it from the rooftops!

I'm kind of caught on this pairing right now. I think there are so many different ways you can play a relationship between them, and I'm not sure I'll ever be tired of it. And AUs are my life blood (although I feel like they're not that popular in this fandom, which makes me sad)- this one popped into my head when 'Barton Hollow' came on the radio and just kind of snowballed into this monster. Small details (and WAGS, I love me some WAGS) are nice surprises to throw in and even better when people get the little jokes (like the cats in this instance).

I'm speechless. This story is a pure gold. Every single detail fits perfectly and I felt as if my soul left my body and floated amongst characters. It's simply amazing and I loved it. And characters are very well created, I especially loved Helena, she brought some magic to the fic, of course along with Mario, but also Silva, Villa, Gael... very, very nice. And the ending was just the way it supposed to be. I already have a feeling that this will be a story that I'll come back to very often. I want to write more but a mosquito is attacking me so I have to go on war!
