Bessie the trusty laptop has died. She tried her hardest and served me well. But her end was long overdue. I note that she slipped from this life on the same day as the great Mr Ballard, but in no way suggest that her passing has that level of significance, if any

Oh, poor Bessie. Do you have a name in mind for her replacement? I firmly believe computers, cars, etc, work better when they have names. My computer is called Charlotte, and she's very reliable. However, Jacob the corolla has his issues, so maybe my theory is less sound than I thought.
